We felt the need, the need for speed.

Getting to the checkout as quick as you can shouldn’t be a drag. You want your customers to be able to easily pay for what they want in that second they decide to buy from you. We know that if you’re embedding your button into a sales page in your site, then you’re probably embedding it there because you already have all your product info and images there. In that case, there’s no need for them to go through it again once the click that Buy Button. They’re already converted!

So, we’ve made it even faster for your buyers to pay you, by adding an optional ‘Skip to checkout’ feature for all embedded buttons and widgets. Here’s how it works.

How it works

On your items page, pick the item that you want to embed in your website. Click on ‘Options’ and then ‘Embed’.

On the ‘Embed Button’ or ‘Embed widget’ tabs, be sure to check the ‘Skip to checkout’ box in the ‘Choose how buyers interact’ section.

Grab your code and paste it into your site as you usually would.

That’s it! You’re done. Your buyers can now click on ‘Buy now’ and be taken straight to the checkout.

We love making nifty little changes like this to Selz, but we can’t do it without your feedback. Let us know in the comments below what features or enhancements you’d love to see.

Any chance I can create a view cart button using the jQuery plugin?

  2. Courtney

Can you add the ability to have a ‘view cart’ button that I can embed into my website.

I have the cart app running but don’t want to install the store. It’s working perfectly at the moment just embedding buttons as and when needed.

If I could have an embedded ‘View Cart’ button as well that triggers the opening of the cart in a modal then I have the perfect experience.

Hi Courtney, Thanks for your feedback. We don’t currently have that feature, but I’ll definitely address it with the team to add as a desired feature. We definitely want you to have the perfect experience :)

This would be a brilliant feature and one I would like to as I am looking to move to Selz and this is something that is missing to add to my site. Thanks

Any update on this? I’m going to have to move to Shopify if this cannot be resolved as it is now a must have for my business and I know Shopify can do what I require. The current UX being provided is not good enough as users cannot find their cart easily.

Hey Courtney, I put it on our to-do list, but it’s not currently live. Please email [email protected] and we can walk you through workarounds, or elevate your request if we can’t find a solution for you.

What is really needed is a shopping cart widget for WordPress so that buyers can see their carts without going to the Selz website. That way you can use Selz as the only sales option on my website. As it is now, buyers using embedded Selz buttons on my WordPress site have to buy the products one by one – no cart option.

    1. Bodie

I am a 100% with Jay here. We need a similar embed code that will simply allow us to assign a link to a cart to have an overlay pop up to show us our cart so we don’t have to buy things one at a time. This can’t be very hard to do at all can it? We just need the right code to use. If we folks are using embedded widgets for “adding to cart” there’s a reason we want to avoid going to a store page because we want our customers to stay on the site with the same design. Is there any hope that we might be able to see this happen someday? Or is there any code available that would be able to place on our sites that would show us an overlay if our carts? This is the one thing stopping me from using selz with my other customers almost every time because they don’t want to leave their website.

      1. Kristen

Hey Bodie, thanks for your comment. You can keep customers on your site by using the Shopping Cart app. As I mentioned to Jay below, you can embed your entire store or items one by one on your own website. As long as the Shopping Cart app is installed to your Selz store, it will allow your buyers to purchase many items at one time without having to go to your standalone Selz store.

    2. Kristen

Hi Jay, thanks for your comment. If you want to allow your buyers to purchase more than one item at a time on your WP site, you would want to make sure that Shopping Cart app is enabled on your store. You can find this via the Apps page within your account.

Once Shopping Cart is enabled, you can embed your store or items onto your WP site. Please note that if you use the Shopping Cart app and embed your store or items, the store or items must all be on one WP page as the Shopping Cart is not optimized for different pages at this stage.

Interested in this product and using it through muse. Can you select shoes colour and shoe size and quantity within the app?

    1. Kristen

Hey Justin, you can set different variants for a single product. As long as you add color variants and size variants, your customers will be able to specify the exact shoe size and color they want.
