Samantha Brett

I am a journalist, news reporter, six-time author and passionate about supporting other women. I began my news career in New York interning at the Fox News Channel while studying a journalism/law degree and immediately got the news bug! When I returned to Sydney, I began writing a column for an Australian newspaper about lifestyle, dating and relationships, and this exposure enabled me to publish my next few books. I have been a news reporter for the past five years, covering international events for the likes of CBS, CNN and SKY News, and currently work at the Seven News Network as a reporter and fill-in as an early news presenter. Throughout my career, I have had access to some of the most incredible, inspirational women on the planet, and this gave me the inspiration to write “The Game Changers” celebrating successful women one inspirational story after another.

Steph Adams

I am a Creative Director, Author and Influencer. I began www.stephadams.com in 2009; showcasing beauty, fashion & lifestyle brands and interviewing various celebrities from around the globe. This then inspired the launch of ‘Good to Glow’ and ‘The Game Changers’. I’ve collaborated with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia in 2014 as one of their Ambassadors as well as with Paris Fashion Week and Singapore Fashion Week, 2016. I have worked as an Art Director with international publications such as British Vogue, Harpers Bazaar (UK & Aus), Elle (UK), Marie Claire (UK & AUS), Conde Nast Traveller, Vogue Living, Vogue Entertaining and Travel, Net-a-Porter and Vogue Australia.

How did you guys meet? And when did you become such a powerful team?

We met during a television presenting course right at the beginning of our careers, and quickly became fast friends, as well as collaborating on a number of projects when Sam needed to design a brochure. The friendship grew organically from there and we would constantly brainstorm ideas and concepts. We not only became a great team, but very close friends and have loved every minute on collaborating on such a special project as ‘The Game Changers’.

What is The Game Changers about?

‘The Game Changers’ is an inspirational book featuring different women’s success stories from around the globe who are leaders in their fields. These women have graciously shared their success secrets and tips for getting ahead in their careers, as well as chronicling their challenges and how they have overcome adversities. The aim of the book is to share these stories with other women so they too can be inspired to live their best lives and follow up on their dreams without being deterred by failure or set-backs.

What inspired you to write this book?

The world seems to be rapidly changing and women seem to be succeeding more and more in fields that may have traditionally been seen as male-dominated. We wanted to highlight the great successes of women today, and also prove to women aspiring to follow their dreams, that these days anything is possible.

What will entrepreneurs learn from reading The Game Changers?

Entrepreneurs will learn that failure is all apart of the journey, and to keep working hard and follow your passions and dreams. Some of the women had extreme setbacks in regards to their health, monetary situations, family, loss or simply getting rejection after rejection, but they kept pursuing their dreams, believing in themselves and not letting naysayers stand in their way.

What advice would you give to your followers who are just getting started on their entrepreneurial journey?

  • To take one day at a time and that success does not happen overnight.
  • Believe in what you do and persistence is key!
  • Don’t listen to people who want to try and prevent you from following your passions, and always do everything with honesty and integrity.

What is one thing you want people to take away from The Game Changers?

Follow your passions, work hard, dream big and know anything is possible!
